Code and stories follow the same cycle: draft, test, fail, rewrite, and release something better than you first imagined.

Engineering approach

C# / .NET and enterprise application development

My main focus is C# / .NET and enterprise application development, but I have never seen technology as a fixed boundary. Over the years, I have worked across different systems, databases, integrations, architectures and development environments, which has made adaptability an important part of how I approach software.

Much of my work has involved entering systems I did not design, understanding why they evolved the way they did, and improving them without introducing unnecessary disruption.

I have diagnosed production problems, stabilized existing applications, integrated systems and APIs, migrated legacy components, automated repetitive processes, modernized applications incrementally, and delivered solutions within real technical and business constraints.

While C# / .NET is where I have developed my strongest expertise, my broader technology stack allows me to move beyond it when a project requires it. I am comfortable learning unfamiliar components, working across different technologies, and adapting to challenging environments rather than expecting the environment to adapt to my preferred tools.

I am equally comfortable joining an established team and supporting decisions that were made before I arrived. Sometimes the right contribution is to design something new. Sometimes it is to understand an old application, preserve what still works, and carefully improve the parts that no longer do.

I have collaborated with people who approached problems differently, changed my own decisions when better evidence appeared, mentored colleagues without needing to control their work, and contributed within architectures created by others.

What interests me most is not rewriting software simply because something newer exists. It is understanding the problem, the constraints and the business risk, then finding a practical way forward.

Whether that means recovering a difficult production system, modernizing a legacy application, connecting previously isolated systems, or learning part of a new technology stack, my goal is the same:

Leave the system more reliable, maintainable and understandable than I found it.
